The NAPA Masterclass Programme 2020 Welcomes:

Intergenerational Music Making

Date:  6th May  2020

Aim: This Masterclass will inspire, equip and further embed the use of music for care home staff members in the workplace. The day will emphasise the potential for music to be used as a preventative tool and in managing behaviours that challenge, thereby helping participants to understand that music can act as a supportive tool, rather than as a burdensome addition to existing workloads.

By the end of this Masterclass participants will be able to:

✓ Understand the process of setting up Intergenerational sessions, risk assessments, making links with the care homes/local schools

✓ Develop Music Making within an intergenerational session including songs, activities and ideas that can be incorporated and ideas for extending your repertoire and fun activities

✓ Appreciate the benefits and theory of music sessions

The aim behind this day is that all involved will leave armed with a tool kit full of songs, activities, ideas and theory to incorporate into your own sessions. The day is hands on so will included lots of singing, playing, chatting, making connections and, of course, some time to think and reflect.

Time:  Full day workshop: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Venue:  Central London
Fee: member rate (£125) or non-member rate (£200**) per delegate

  • Review current tasks and activities, and the changes needed, to support greater interaction with the outdoors
